This qualification, accredited by ITC First is designed for practitioners caring for babies and children (up to the age of 18 years) in the absence of their parents.

This 1 day course covers Emergency Paediatric events and includes first aid skills in managing and dealing with these incidents.The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all those working in an Early Years Provision to have at least one staff member available at ALL times who has completed a full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification. (EYFS Section 3.25)

This course is:

Suitable for Primary and Nursery school teachers/practitioners, child minders and child carers.
This qualification indicates an individual can undertake the role of first aider in a position that has responsibility of caring for infants and children. It may also have been identified as necessary by a workplace risk assessment.
Our Practical and ‘Hands On’ training methods will enable you to feel more confident in applying first aid whilst managing children in your care during an emergency.
This qualification is designed to provide essential emergency paediatric life-saving skills.
Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.
As well as being suitable in a childcare environment, this course is also perfect for parents or family members who wish to learn the basics of paediatric first aid.
Successful completion will result in candidate gaining ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid with a valid (licence to practice) lifetime of 3 years from date of completion.
This course is revalidated by attending another 1 day PFA training course after 3 years.

By successfully completing an accredited course, participants are obtaining a qualification – not just a first aid certificate, as stipulated now for anyone working with children from birth through to 18 years of age.
