This qualification, accredited by ITC First is designed for practitioners caring for babies and children (up to the age of 18 years) in the absence of their parents.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all those working in an Early Years Provision to have at least one staff member available at ALL times who has completed a full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification. (EYFS Section 3.25)

This course is:

Suitable for Primary and Nursery school teachers/practitioners, child minders and child carers as well as parents and grandparents
This 12 hour Ofqual regulated qualification is practical and active and meets your OFSTED and EYFS and requirements (EYFS Annex A pages 42/43)
Childminders must have a 12 hour paediatric first aid certificate to be able to become a registered childminding business. This includes any assistant that is left in charge at any time.
Our Practical and ‘Hands On’ training methods will enable you to feel more confident in applying first aid whilst managing children in your care during an emergency.
This qualification is designed to provide essential paediatric life saving skills and paediatric incident management. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.
Successful completion will result in candidate gaining ITC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid with a valid (licence to practice) lifetime of 3 years from date of completion.
This course is revalidated by attending another 2 day PFA training course after 3 years.

By successfully completing an accredited course, participants are obtaining a qualification – not just a first aid certificate, as stipulated now for anyone working with children from birth through to 18 years of age.
