ABOUT KISS IT BETTER FIRST AID

We are expert
First Aiders.

Hi, I’m Trudy and the face and voice behind Kiss It Better First Aid Training. I took over this already established business in 2015 which primarily focused on families and paediatric first aid training, hence the name.

Since then we have developed into a thriving business supporting and delivering regulated First Aid Courses for local schools, nurseries, businesses and individuals throughout Calderdale, Kirklees and beyond. Skills developed as a Sales and Training Professional, heading up a team as National Training Manager with Electrolux has definitely helped me gain a reputation for delivering a friendly and professional service.

As the Lead Trainer/Assessor of Kiss It Better I am passionate about delivering practical, active and enjoyable first aid courses whether it be an In-house course at your premises or an Open course based in Brighouse. Kiss It Better meets all the ‘due diligence’ checks required under the latest (October 2013) HSE regulations.

From your first enquiry to receiving your certificates it is myself that you will deal with. Kiss It Better is an Approved Centre with the Awarding Body ITC First, regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation and certification lasts for 3 years.

As an independent training provider I believe that Kiss It Better courses are value for money (No VAT applicable) and can offer the flexibility of twilight sessions, weekends etc to suit your In-house business needs.

My passion for First Aid training began when working for a small charity in Halifax around 20 years ago. We worked with young people 16-19 year olds using the outdoors as our base for building confidence, and gaining qualifications. The ultimate aim of this course for the young people who completed was to complete a 2 week self-supporting journey in Europe – Tour du Mont Blanc in Summer and ski-touring in the harsh environment of the Rondane area of Norway. It was essential, therefore, that our whole team for these journeys were first aid trained and I began my journey in first aid by taking on the responsibility for this training.

Outside of Kiss It Better I can be found enjoying the outdoors, supporting Duke of Edinburgh programmes. I hold the Summer Mountain Leader qualification and prior to Covid happening have worked on many Charity Hikes and Walks in the UK. My personal challenges have included the highs and lows of summitting Mount Kilimanjaro, and travelling to the depths of the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon – and many others.

So, whether you are looking at new first aid certification, renewing qualifications either by joining an open course, or your staff team at your premises please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss.
