 Employers are required to risk assess their workplace and provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. Help and support can be found from the HSE to determine whether your workplace is a High or Low risk.

Your risk assessment will identify whether your first aiders should be trained in FAW, EFAW, or some other appropriate level of training. EFAW training enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work. FAW training includes the same content as EFAW and also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries
and illness.

Our courses are predominantly practical and interactive as we know this is the best way to learn and practice first aid, and they are assessed by continual observation of candidate performance to meet the criteria. A course manual is provided and there is no end of course questionnaire to worry about. Successful candidates are awarded the appropriate Certificate for their qualification which is regulated by Ofqual (Level 3 RQF) and is valid for 3 years.

Adult Workplace First Aid Training Course

2 Day FIRST AID AT WORK REQUALIFICATION (FAWR) 12 hours RQF

FAW requalification is by taking the full FAW qualification again. Provided the candidates FAW certificate has not expired by more than 1 Calendar month the contact time may be reduced to 12 hours over 2 days. 

Calendar month means if the expiry date is 5th of one month then the candidates have until 4th of the next month to complete the requalification.

• Statutory first aid qualification for higher risk workplaces
• Successful completion will result in the knowledge and skills that have been identified by the HSE for the management of emergency incidents and the treatment of illness and injuries in the workplace.
• Course manual per candidate
• Successful completion will result in candidate gaining ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work with a valid (licence to practice) lifetime of 3 years from date of completion.
• The HSE strongly recommend candidates take an annual 3 hour refresher (BLS) during the lifetime of the qualification.
